Mirrors of the Heart

Reflecting Our True Selves Through Forgiveness

Hello friends!

tl;dr After our intuition series, I drew the Two of Water in my tarot deck—a symbol of connection and forgiveness—and was reminded that healing relationships begins with freeing our own hearts. I’ll share Michael J. Tamura’s inspiring wisdom, practical reflections, and details about my upcoming classes.

Coming off our intuition series, I asked what topic to explore next and was met with an overwhelming chorus of signs pointing to relationships—so I consulted my tarot deck and drew the Two of Water, a beautiful emblem of emotional connection and forgiveness. At the core of every healing relationship is forgiveness. As Michael J. Tamura reminds us, “Forgiveness grows out of the wisdom of the heart and forgiveness is the heart of wisdom”. He also says “Forgiveness is love giving us yet another chance to learn, to heal, and to fulfill our purpose.” Forgiveness isn’t about condoning hurtful behavior or pretending wounds don’t exist; it’s about freeing our hearts so we can move forward with compassion and clarity.

Relationships truly are mirrors: we’re often quick to spot others’ flaws—impatience, self doubt, defensiveness—only to discover those very same traits living within us. Our judgments of someone else’s imperfections shine a light on how harshly we judge ourselves, which is why forgiving ourselves can feel so challenging.

This week, I invite you to reach out to someone you’ve held a grudge against—if only to say, “I’m working on forgiveness”—thank a friend for unwavering support, or journal about a time you forgave yourself to notice how that changed you. For a deeper dive into these healing principles, check out the upcoming classes below.
